06 Sep 2010 Nutty | Fair play Tommo, all good strikers try to claim as many goals as they can but this one is mine, it hurt my head it was that much of a bullet.
Cheers Horsey, the skipper will bag next Saturday.
Fair play to the lads who missed out turning up to support us, and nice to see Eastwood there too! With two RTFC legends now retired is time for others to step up to the plate. |

| only managed to catch the 2nd half of the 2nds on Saturday and I must say it as a joy to watch. The centre halves were solid, Jonny Harrison never lost an header, Duffy was his usual busy self and Thommo on another day would have scored 5 and not the 2 he got. Keep it going boys. Big Red's Army :-) |
05 Sep 2010 Nutty | Nice one Daz, Best Banter at Royton. you WILL be missed. |
05 Sep 2010 Easty | All the best Daz you've been a great servant. Not many can say they have double winners medals and as most of us have been reminded over the years you most certainly do! |
05 Sep 2010 Nutty | That's how you win a football game. |

02 Sep 2010
| Spot on Ali,i couldn`t have put it better myself,(i`m not sure about the Mancini reference though mate, maybe thats where we went wrong in the 2nd half.)Everything else was just about right, there was a lot of very disillusioned spectators leaving the Lancaster club on Tuesday evening, most of whom have had high expectations this season who couldn`t believe the capitulation in the 2nd half, take nothing away from Avro they showed a hunger only the great S.A.F.can instill into his teams, let`s show that same hunger & desire the rest of the season,i think the squad owe it to the followers of the Town to start performing to their full potential,i also think the management team deserve better.I have been at this wonderful club now for 37 years as player, manager, secretary, chairman, president & ballboy & no disrespect to former players or managers(myself included)the current squad is as good as any,the only things missing are the things Ali points out ,i can also say that our current management team is also the hardest working team i can remember..So come on boys,HUNGER,DESIRE,AGGRESSION,CONFIDENCE,BELIEF....PS.Anyone know how captain Frazz is ? |
01 Sep 2010
| Come on Lads whats happening lets get down to training and show so spirit. Think there's to many of us thinking we are big time charlies lets pull together in our hour of need and 3 points nothing less will do on saturday |
01 Sep 2010 Ali | I can not believe that the game ended up in a 6-0 loss last night!!! After they went 2-0 up, you totally dominated the game and should have been going in at least drawing! I then gave one of the most inspirational half time speeches ever - a cross between Obama (US President) and Manchini and within 5 mins the game is over, your heads are down and it was damage limitation! We need to BELIEVE we can win games and play with CONFIDENCE, this season is not over but we need to go back to basics and at least be hard to beat, we have far to many good players to be getting battered - lets all start again on Saturday and play with bite, aggression and confidence and lets BELIEVE we can win!!! RTFC XX |
27 Aug 2010 fraz | cheers ali u tool, now wheres my armband u looked after so badly mate, time to win games now boys, had a good holiday but now im back to business |
27 Aug 2010 Nutty | On the bright side the 2nd's are currently unbeaten in the league. |
27 Aug 2010 Ali | P.s Phil you have not had the pleasure of playing with Pottsy for a full season - trust me when things are not going right he is the world worst for fighting with his own team mates!!! |
27 Aug 2010 Ali | I agree with all the comments although i think Phil Dean is always trying have a dig and keeps picking on me! We are all down (including the fans) and its like there is a major crisis on our hands - we have played bad for 1 and half games and been beaten very easily in them 3 halfs of football but there is still possibly 40 games left of the season lets all get our chins up and play with a bit of confidence and bite and the right aggression as Sir Phil says + Big Fraz is back now and that moron does not lose a header so he will stop alot of the high balls being lumped on us that we struggle to deal with!! |
26 Aug 2010 Carl | Jonesy your not my mate |
26 Aug 2010
| just one thing play your hearts out lads and be proud that you have an opportunity to play for the best team around this area because you are THE BEST NOW GO OUT AND PLAY WITH PRIDE !! |
26 Aug 2010
| Ability on the pitch ? ..... Not a problem.
However, that alone won't win any club a thing.
You must have team / squad spirit and an aggression that is driven in the right direction.
Shouting & swearing at your own team mates and the match officials is not the answer.
All that achieves, is that the negative side gets taken into the next performance (already proven 3 games in).
Individuals react in many different ways to how critism is delivered. This should be spotted by the 'leaders' in the squad and addressed accordingly.
Pottsy (Avro keeper) may be a pain in the a**e throughout a game, but almost every word that came from his mouth was that of encouragement for a team mate.. . . and they hadn't won a game until Tuesday.
Every member of the club is there to offer help and advice but as the old saying goes ''Once you players walk onto the pitch . . '' ?
Show us all that you can match your undoubted ability with the rest of the qualities required and success will follow.
