Town returned victorious from their visit to league leaders Wythenshawe Amateurs with a hard fought 1-0 win .

Wythenshawe were first to create a chance and unlucky on 4 minutes before Fraser Hatton put a good cross in a minute later to emphasis Town's intentions.

Michael Moss hit the bar with a shot on 10 minutes when the official missed a touch by the home keeper and gave a goal kick.

Chances were at a premium and a great battle was unfolding in mid field .

Chris Mackay went close with a header at the start of the second half .

In the Town goal Steve Birchenall was called upon periodically and did well to save on 65 minutes .

Will Mellor was next to go close for Town , but as time passed the game appeared to have 0-0 wrote all over it.

Town soon banished those thoughts when on 87 minutes , having gained a free kick in the centre circle after a rush of blood from the Wythenshawe player , powered the free kick forward and JASON TITTERINGTON found himself wide to the right of the eighteen yard area and hit a superb volley past the rooted keeper .

Wythenshawe still had time to create one last chance but found Steve Birchenall in the Town goal saving well from the free kick.

Town well deserved their three points with a performance from one to eleven that showed absolute guts and determination against a strong Ammies side .
