FA Charter Standard Club Award

Royton Town Football Club is proud to announce that the Club has recently achieved Charter Standard Status. This shows the clubs hard work and effort in improving standards and safety within grassroots football. This has been a long process and will now open doors for the Club with regards developing the junior section of the Club and in turn improving the senior section. The Club will also be able to access grants previously unattainable.

The FA Charter Standard Programme is a core component of The FA Football Development Programme and is designed to raise the quality and safety of football provision and reward best practise within clubs at all levels of the game.  Charter Standard Clubs aim to encourage more people to play football, to develop their skills and to enjoy the game in the right environment. It also demonstrates to parents, children, sponsors and the local community that the club has achieved the required standards.

The FA has drawn up a set of criteria that clubs have to achieve in order to reach Charter Standard.  For example, at least 1 person at every age group must be qualified to the minimum Coaching Qualification which also includes training in Child Protection and First Aid as well as undertaking a Criminal Records Bureau check via The FA.

On behalf of the Clubs Committee we hope that all the players and supporters buy into the ethos of this award and that it is another stepping stone in improving the reputation of the Club in the Borough.
